This is the perfect enterprise for Erica McLean, who proved her aptitude for crafting psychedelia-tinged porn with her 2009 pet project Hardcore Circus (released by Hustler Video), which less directly borrowed from another classic fantasy tale, The Wizard of Oz.
In this case, of course, the source material is Alice in Wonderland, and unlike another new adult title based upon the celebrated story, McLean's Alice takes a slightly less abstract approach in its adaptation. Slightly.
Sunny Lane is our main gal, outfitted in a very Alice-esque blue-and-white ensemble. Falling asleep on sister Kimberly Kane's shoulder as Kane reads what seems to be an erotic novel to her on a park bench, Sunny enters Wonderland, beckoned by White Rabbit Andy San Dimas down a well, where the two embark on a mission to gain access to "The Hole," a hot club run by Duchess Nicki Hunter.
During the phantasmal adventure, Sunny has no fewer than three sex scenes, all boy/girl. First she pairs off with wild beast Otto Bauer, playing the Caterpillar, and later she gets frisky with Mikey Butders as the Cheshire Cat. Finally, she takes tea with, followed by some rabid boning from the Mad Hatter, appropriately portrayed by (who else?) Evan Stone.
Also found within are a tasty girl/girl sesh between San Dimas and Aiden Starr, a boy/girl on the Hatter's tea table with Katie St. Ives and Seth Gamble, and a curiously brief but flashy fuck executed by the Queen and Ace of Hearts, April Flores and C.J. Wright.
Everything is captured with a polished, dreamlike sheen by co-director Carlos Batts, and the intricate makeup and costuming up the production's high-end feel even more.
As ideally suited as McLean is to helming this movie, Lane may be even more so to headlining it. With her well established "girl next door gone hardcore" identity, a more fitting starlet among the adult talent pool to embody Alice as she was originally conceived is hard to fathom.
With the world still experiencing Alice in Wonderland fever in the wake of Tim Burton's recent hit big-screen version, this should drum up plenty of interest, indeed.
