Vivid's 3 is something that, in mainstream, they'd call "a small film"; character-driven, about relationships, with no epic story to tell and not a lot of characters doing the telling. In fact, there are only three real characters —Devon, Inari Vachs and their mutual lover, James Bonn; the rest are fairly interchangeable, save that they're all hotties.
That goes especially for performers in the feature's opener, a steamy mish and horsie romp in the back room of a restaurant, with Keki D'Aire and Bobby Vitale. Blond Keki really knows how to get the most out of fingering her pussy.
That action is infrequently interrupted by the chance meeting of Vachs and Devon, who tells Vachs all about her boyfriend (Bonn), how he makes love and some of his pet phrases —which Vachs immediately recognizes as characteristics of her own boyfriend. The two decide to confront him when he comes home from his business trip, and then the fun really starts.
Not much sense detailing what follows; better to simply let it wash over the viewer like a warm wave. Suffice it to say the dialogue (by longtime scripter Ariel Hart) is sprightly and worthy of a pre-nom for Best Screenplay, and that although this will probably be thought of a Devon's film, Vachs, who looks outstanding in her spectacles and business suit, steals the scene every time she's on camera. Her seduction of Bonn, another top-line performer, with its mutual undressing, fine 69 and great hip action in the cowgirl position; her doggie and mish with Evan Stone; and similar action in the threeway finale impel us to pre-nom her for Best Supporting Actress—Film. But Devon's no slouch either, delivering some excellent labia-licking and doubleheader dildo-action with Maya Divine as Devinn Lane helps the device along, plus her own participation in the finale.
