Here's a rare example of a story-driven adult thriller that works quite well. With its offbeat, nom-worthy screenplay and strong visual style David Stanley scores a winner on nearly every level (the sex is never much hotter than just-okay). The plot is top-notch for porn, filled with twists and false assumptions; it's actually so well constructed that detailing it would do it a disservice. Gina Ryder turns in a nom-worthy Best Actress performance as the newest tenant in a slightly odd apartment building. Her neighbors seem just weird enough to arouse suspicion - with the exception of Mark Davis, who's so creepy he makes Richard Ramirez look like Mr. Rogers. We first see Davis videotaping himself fucking Devon in a good cowgirl. Close-up on a gleaming steel knife... without giving anything else away, we'll just say that Sydnee Steele and Eric Price turn in a pretty good couples matchup and Ryder and Davis get together in a stand-out doggie. It's worth watching to find out the hows and whys.
