For anyone who has been wondering how that age-old standard, the vibrating egg, could possibly be improved, look no further than the Jelly Egg by Ben Wa. This extra large egg has been encased in a transparent gold jelly that both softens the surface and increases its size. A minor drawback is the fact that the mold on the review copy was improperly finished, leaving a navel of a sort at the pouring end. This rather unsightly flaw mars an otherwise attractive toy. Perhaps the real innovation would be best appreciated by the engineers out there. The remote control, rather than being constructed from off-white opaque plastic, is an attractive transparent pink, enabling the user and the observer to appreciate the inner workings of the contraption. An added bonus to transparent plastic is that it is immediately apparent when there are no batteries installed in the remote.
