Mother of Adult Star Emily Willis Tentatively Settles With Clinic

LOS ANGELES—The mother of incapacitated adult star Emily Willis has reached a tentative settlement with the Summit Malibu rehabilitation clinic to close out litigation alleging that care for the award-winning actress was negligent, leading to her current medical condition.

According to MyNewsLA.com, attorneys for Summit Malibu filed court papers late last month in the Santa Monica Superior Court, notifying the judge in the case that a "conditional" settlement had been negotiated, with the case expected to be dismissed later in the year. Terms of the settlement have yet to be revealed.

As AVN previously reported, lawyers for Summit shifted the blame of negligence toward Willis herself for declining to follow the guidelines of doctors who were tasked with helping her overcome an apparent ketamine addiction. She was admitted to the rehab center after being hospitalized due to an overdose in early 2024.

“It is undisputed that during her stay, [Willis] ... had refused to follow medical recommendations and take her medications,” Summit's attorneys said. “She refused to go to urgent care or the hospital voluntarily, despite being encouraged to do so by (Summit Malibu).”

Additionally, Willis was locked in a $5 million defamation lawsuit filed against fellow star Gianna Dior. That case was dismissed by the presiding judge in July of last year.
