LOS ANGELES—A Los Angeles County judge ruled in favor of settling a lawsuit brought against a Malibu rehab clinic on behalf of Emily Willis, an AVN Award-winning adult star who is currently in a persistent vegetative state due to alleged negligence by clinic personnel.
The settlement is valued at $3 million, notes reporting on the ruling by The Independent.
Willis, 27, suffered irreversible brain damage due to prolonged oxygen deprivation during a stay at Summit Malibu in 2024 for a prior addiction to the drug ketamine.
"Having lived and breathed this case for nearly two years, I can state with confidence that [Willis] is significantly injured, but that this case was no slam dunk," Willis' attorney James A. Morris Jr. wrote in a recent filing.
As AVN reported in early March, the attorneys for Summit Malibu filed court papers in February in the Santa Monica Superior Court, notifying the judge in the case that a "conditional" settlement had been negotiated, with the case expected to be dismissed later in the year.
This settlement is the conclusion of the case that has droned on for over two years.
Willis was previously locked in a $5 million defamation lawsuit filed against fellow star Gianna Dior. That case was dismissed by the presiding judge in July 2025.
