From the moment that those almost familiar notes play, viewers with a love of the original "Star Trek" series will know that they have entered a world where fanfic meets video — and the result is wonderfully transgressive.
Naturally, there’s a campy feel throughout the slightly more than one hour episode, but the Trek essentials remain: a sexually insatiable captain who can fuck a green alien chick just as easily as he can wrestle a green alien monster, an affectionately cranky doctor with no choice but to bang some life back into a suddenly listless chief communications officer, and a usually logical half-breed second-in-command who can turn the sexual crank on a cunning and busty alien vixen.
The races have been changed to protect the writers and producers, but the fun is the same — only far more graphic.
Some extras, performer credits and still galleries would have made this even better, but those who love the campy goodness that is a matte painted background and cardboard spaceship interior will be in Risa.
