Anyone nostalgic for the '70s should check out this 30-year-old Italian flick that combines soft porn, or "erotica," with mystery-horror in the Italian "giallo" style, of which this is a good, though somewhat mild, example.
The stark-eyed Ursula (beautiful Barbara Mangolfi) and her sister (Stefania D'Amario) vacation in a luxury hotel on Italy's lush Amalfi coast with the man they both love (Marc Porel). Their female acquaintances get picked off one by one by a mysterious killer who eviscerates them with a gigantic wooden phallus.
There's plentiful nudity and lots of thick black bush. The simulated sex is the equivalent of what you'd see today in a "hard-R" Hollywood release. The violence happens mostly off-screen, though there are gore-spattered corpses galore. The glossy photography looks softly sumptuous in the excellent video transfer.
Retailing: The giallo genre has plenty of devotees, and they'll love this.
