While we wish Henri Pachard all the best in his personal life, Shag adds little to his considerable career as a pornographer. Either something was lost in the translation of his script-to-screen, or Maverick simply isn't witty enough to pull it off.
Either scenario ultimately paints a confusing picture as the story lurches from one overbaked character and underdeveloped plot thread to the next. In a nutshell: Spears is leeching off his rich wife Kassin; their maid (Crawford) seems to be the sexual lynchpin that keeps the family from entirely falling apart. It's never explained exactly why she's playing both ends against the muddle - but these details are irrelevant because the extraneous sex scenes are fueling what little fire exists.
Randy Spears can always be counted on for his efforts, particularly with [hooker] Annie Cruz in a tasty one-on-one session and later when teamed up with Gunn to deliver a double-barreled d.p. to Romain. Despite being present for nearly every scene, Crawford disappoints.
Retailing: Crawford's fan following may want a peek.
