There is a particular rough charm to Ed Powers' amateur series, not to mention staying power. Yes, Powers makes the girls feel comfortable; they mention that often. Yes, everyone seems to enjoy what they're doing, for the most part. And yes, the technical qualities have never improved: shaky cameras that tip over, annoyingly jumpy, rapid editing that makes it hard to focus, some fuzzy focusing, excruciatingly boring interviews and a drab visual style that makes it all look about 30 years old. There's a charm; but does that mean we need to see it? This reviewer thinks the charm is wearing thin, and the Emporer's new clothes are soon to be revealed.

In two volumes and six girls, only Selina Draagen shows any sort of personality through the repetitive, by-the-numbers positions. She's more confidant and talks about her appreciation for Powers' work. If only the rest of the fucking was as good as her appreciation.

Retailing: Drab amateur fare, but Powers fans will like it.
