There's nothing reviewers like better than being surprised - and Estelle Joseph delivers that feeling nicely. City of Flesh II is set in NYC, uses performers that won't be winning beauty prizes, and utilizes just three rooms for the sex scenes - but the first 40 or so minutes convey such raw, realistic sexuality that no viewer will be disappointed.

Start with Dana Marie, who, after interviewing with building manager Tabitha, wanders around the apartment, striking up a conversation with workmen Billy Lee and Jon. There's a mutual attraction, and soon, Billy's rubbing ice on Dana's tits, kissing her and receiving a b.j. in return. Mish and cowgirl, which Dana obviously loves, follow, which Tabitha peeps, inspiring her to masturbate in the shower while imagining a girl/girl scene between her and Dana. The feature intercuts the three scenes, usually a bad idea, but in this case serving to build the heat to volcanic proportions - and it's something we'll remember come nomination season.
