It's safe to assume that anime fans are familiar with Marvel Comics - and comic collectors, in turn, know all about the cosmically spawned character Warlock. Along with his wisecracking sidekick Pip the Troll, their mission was to collect seven "soul gems" (which have the power to unite/destroy the universe) from the clutches of multi-powered aliens.
This marvelous premise seems to have been liberally "borrowed" to form the basis for Hooligan. The star-crossed hero is now the ultra-horny earthling Yukito, his sidekick a talking Pikachu-like dog, and seven holy dildos (explain that to the Pope!) are the sacred objects. Substituting Warlock's heroic fisticuffs with Yukito's erotic fuckmanship, the result is a campy universe set ablaze by a big carnal bang. Like Pokémon on 'shrooms, Hooligan transforms into a thoroughly cosmi-comic animated romp.
