Evan Stone plays a self-hating screenwriter, who gets to direct his script about the breakup of his marriage. He and the actress who plays his wife (Savannah Samson) fall in lust.
Fiction and reality keep jostling each other, as they often do in the work of David Stanley, who wrote this one. Stone talks a lot, via split screen, to various alter egos.
He and Samson have a long sex scene that begins, very erotically, with her sitting on a toilet masturbating for him, and ends with bizarre anal sex with her suspended by slings.
Samson is charming and believable, as usual, and she has three sex scenes, but it's really Stone's movie, directed by Paul Thomas with his usual flair.
Pre-noms: Stone, Best Actor. Samson, Best Actress. Stone/Samson, Best Sex Scene Coupling.
