Though the cover of this disc boasts that it's the "original, uncut" version, that's not the case. Some pieces are clearly missing, and others appear to be out of their original order. Moreover, the quality of the film from which this was mastered is abysmal: Scratches throughout, and what appear to be dozens of film emulsion defects in every frame.

With that caveat, The Story Of Joanna is a respected hardcore domination classic, set in the Victorian era, with nobleman Jamie Gillis selecting debutante Terri Hall as his subject, training her to serve his every wish - which she does because she loves him, though he cannot return her affection. Gillis heaps indignities upon the hapless girl, such as having her serve drinks at his party, dressed only in a bustier so as to allow the male guests to finger her pussy. Gillis directs butler Zebedy Colt to seduce her - she also gives Gillis a blowjob - and Hall also essays 69 with maid Juliet Graham. There's not much hardcore shown, but what is here is exceptionally stylish. It's sad that director Gerard Damiano's acclaimed work is not better represented here.
