We originally gave this Private offering - touted as "the most ambitious adult super production ever" - just a AAA 1/2 rating, but now we think we may have underestimated it. One thing's for sure, though: this Collector's Edition DVD set is one of the most impressive we've seen all year, from its gorgeous and unique, foldout long-box packaging to its two discs' worth of material. There are interviews here with everybody from director Del Mar to the cook (we're not kidding), as well as little treats like a trivia game that leads to a bonus sex scene if you answer all the questions correctly. No question that Millionaire looks nice, but it also looks familiar - very familiar. Sex on the boat, sex in the park, sex in the fancy house - seems there's nothing new here other than sticking different girls in the same locations. Or maybe they are the same girls in the same locations. Or even the same scenes. After a while, it's hard to tell.

Not that consistency is all bad - Alessandro del Mar's productions look very nice, the sex is hot and the girls even hotter. Porn fans who have never seen del Mar's stuff should be very satisfied, at least visually.

There is the constant annoyance of overdubbed audio in Private's Euro titles, and this is no exception - dialog and moans alike - but visually, everything is in order. There are some odd edits, an intense anal going straight into a cumshot, for example, but it could be much worse. And while the acting is clearly better than most U.S. productions, the dubbed dialog makes it hard to follow what seems to be an inconsequential storyline.
