It was very refreshing to see a product in which so much effort and care went into every aspect. 30 Days in the Hole is an excellent feature and brings back the feel of the glory days of videos. Pre-nom for Best Comedy Release.
Another pre-nom for Best Director to Jace Rocker, who also wrote the script. Rocker controls everything with an apparent overall fondness for doing it right. Artfully allowing Randy Spears and Joel Lawrence freedom to craftily bumble their way as newspaper employees who end up in the slammer after getting their dicks caught in a mouse trap and peep show hole, respectively, is sheer genius.
Frank Bukkwyd is suitably looney, and airheaded Katie Morgan, who could have written the book on acting and sounding zany, shines. Roxanne Hall is a superb temptress who early on entices Spears and later does him in a behind-the-bars jail cell scene. Layla Jade gets her inmate, and Lauren Phoenix is a delightful prick tease.
