Part pro-am video, part sexual documentary, this Jewel De'Nyle productions provides a fascinating look at porn star wannabes.

It's basically an audition tape. De'Nyle, Jacklyn Lick and Ron Jeremy are the judges, and they take the tryouts quite seriously. Bisexual Britni interviews the players before they step up to bat and on the second day lets the guys jerk off on her.

Looks, performance, attitude are among the criteria, plus, for the men, the ability to cum in front of a crowd.

What is notable is how humanely this bunch of ordinary guys (and a geek or two) is treated. No one is ridiculed. Even those who "fold under pressure" are let down lightly. The porn veteran judges know it ain't easy.

Of the 14 contestants, 12 are men. Says Jewel at one point, "It's guys that want to be porn stars." Taylor, the prettiest and sluttiest of the girls, takes home the grand prize of $2,500 (handed to her in a wad of cash) and a six-picture deal with Platinum X. Male winner Jay Summers, a well-hung and presentable young black man, also gets six pictures.

They both appear with Jewel in the only full sex scene, a somewhat tentative threeway. The single most erotic thing in the show is Taylor's audition blowjob of Michael Stefano.

This is not a turn-on tape, though there is ample tease throughout. But it's loaded with human interest and industry insider interest, which gives it crossover appeal in several directions. Videography is excellent, but DVD chapter breaks are rather haphazard.
