Max seems to be on autopilot for much of this one, with only the closer showing any real signs of life.
The first two scenes - Max and 18-year-old newbie Mya Mason; and Max, gal-pal Catalina and trashy Euro whore Alexis Milano - are pretty by the numbers, lacking passion and rhythm, though there's some inspired stomach-churning scum swapping in the latter. It doesn't help matters that the girls are - sorry - simply so-so in the looks department.
Max just doesn't seem all that obnoxiously in-your-face here, maybe because the extreme hard edge genre he godfathered has caught up to and arguably surpassed him. Or perhaps he's just mellowing with age and/or wariness due to his legal battles. Shit, he seems almost caring and paternal in his scene with Mason, not once even as much as calling her a whore. What is this world coming to?
The aforementioned closer, a Max/Alicia pairing, throws off some real sparks as he drills her ass but good and is the best scene in a weak lot. She's vaguely halfway decent looking too.
