Bud Lee's pretty-girl epic has arrived on one of VCA's first DVD-9s (single-side, dual-layered) with mixed results. While the extras are actually interesting (the Bud Lee interview particularly has some funny moments), the transfer itself has some weak spots. As long as the video is brightly-lit, the disc is one of the cleanest we've ever seen; but some of the darker scenes look like the disc was mastered through a nylon stocking. Overall, a very good disc, but VCA still has some homework to do on the DVD-9 format.
