One of 1996's big winners at the AVN Awards becomes this year's blockbuster DVD, the first from well-known CD-ROM producer Digital Playground. Our review of Wicked Pictures' Conquest, the video feature, can be found in our October '96 issue. Unfortunately, the transformation of the video master to a "film look" for the original video release mars the image quality of the digital disk, leaving it on par with a very good video-tape, but inferior to many DVDs we've already seen. However, star Jenna Jameson still looks great... even without her makeup.

The unadorned Jameson appears in a special "Making of..." section of the DVD, with footage never before released, and the segments is well worth a look. As one might expect, Jenna accounts for a good deal of the "action" here, and her fans are sure to be delighted with these "au naturel" glimpses of her and others' reactions to the surrounding on-the-set chaos. The interaction between Jenna and Shayla La-Veaux alone is worth the price of the disk.

Also included is Wicked's award-winning trailer to the feature, plus a short segment titled "contact information" containing more sexy shots of Jenna, Raylene, Asia Carrera and new Digital Playground contract star Rocki Roads.

With so few true DVD's on the market, and with so many of your customers looking for something to watch on their new Chanukah/Christmas presents, Conquest should certainly be among your DVD offerings.
