My mother has a knack for cooking; she can take a couple of containers of leftovers, whip them together and come up with a very satisfying meal. Unfortunately, what works in the kitchen doesn't always work in the bedroom, particularly in the case of Adele Robbins' Sweet Alice.

Excess footage from several of Seka's best films has been spliced onto a story of a New Mexico cowboy (James) hiring an L.A. detective (Wilder) to find his wayward wife, played by Seka who was last seen heading for the bright lights of Hollywood. James finds her working as a porno star.

James and Wilder play well against each other, and with each other in a sensitively-handled "first encounter" scene. As for Seka, these "leftover" vignettes show her in rare form with the likes of Cousteau, Holmes, and an actor who is a reliable source swears to me looks like "Leave It To Beaver" regular Ken (Eddie Haskell) Osmond.

There are some very tasty scenes in this film, but the slapdash feel make Sweet Alice, at best, semi-sweet.
