Once upon a time, before Deep Throat, home video, and Ron Jeremy, there was Tomatoes. A blast from the past, Tomatoes falls into the "underground classic" category. With production values that make John Waters' film such as Pink Flamingos look like the newest Spielberg extravaganza, Tomatoes is also one of those films that is so bad it's funny. More importantly, Eric Edwards, Jamie Gillis, and John Leslie are nowhere to be found.

The plot, so to speak, revolves around Stanley Jones, rent collector for one Mr. Watson. We follow Jones on his first (and only) day on the job, as he journeys from apartment to apartment in search of this month's rent. But, it seems that every apartment is occupied by insatiable (and really, really ugly) women, all of whom lust after Stan. These girls are into everything: drugs, the occult, whipped cream, bondage, love potions, and, of curse, hide the salami. After one day, Stan's ready for a vacation.

Pure cheese from the word go, Tomatoes will never make anyone's top ten. In fact, if there were Golden Turkey Awards for porn flicks, this would be right up there with Plan 9 From Outer Space. But, that's what makes Tomatoes worth recommending. Hey, it ain't art, but it sure would be a lot of fun at a party. Because in Tomatoes, everyone gets stewed.
