Cecil (Firestorm) Howard has tried his hand at a political carnal comedy with pretty fair results. The problem is that it's just a bit too clever for its own good. This is probably one of those cases where too many characters spoil the hardcore brew. Still, thanks to some fast sexual action, it rates as good, clean, dirty fun.

There's more characters and plot twists in Spitfire than in one episode of Dynasty. It all starts with Samantha Fox seducing John Leslie in a hotel room and telling him the story of her Senator husband (R. Bolla) and their amorous daughter (Chelsea Manchester). Bolla, a moral majority candidate with a heart condition, still screws around with naughty nurse Susan Nero and silly secretary Annie Sprinkle. Eric Edwards also shows up as a doctor playing a house call and winds up examining Chelsea and Samantha's tempting bodies.

Meanwhile, reporters Sharon Mitchell and Rikki Harte investigate Bolla's press agent Joey Silvera. But, it's Chelsea's striptease on a political telecast that almost brings down the house. And you thought you had problems!

Although there's quite a few steamy sexual encounters in Spitfire, tanned, voluptuous, blue-eyed blonde Rikki Harte steals the show. Rikki and Sharon really work over vet stud Joey Silvera in a torrid three-way tryst. They take turns sucking on Joey's most valuable asset and he reciprocates in kind. Unfortunately, word has it that this is Rikki's final hardcore appearance.

Since this is a Cecil Howard production, everything is very professional. Spitfire has glossy photography, creative camera angles, inventive editing, stylish sets, and lots of locations. Chalk this one up as a lighter film, from one of the genre's most talented and audacious auteurs.
