Every wonder why some people don’t’ like porn? Granted, it’s not for everyone. But there are some people who have probably seen just one or two features, which were fairly old and totally uninspired, and so they were turned off to porn forever. I Want What I See is a good example of what not to see if you’re looking for a good porn.
I Want What I See is a fairly typical 10 or 12-year-old French feature. The actors are average looking, there’s only one or two sets, the budget is very low, and the story (or lack thereof) only serves to set up as many sexual encounters as quickly as possible.
A swinging couple decides to advertise their house for sale, to attract more people to swing with. How original! To be fair… if you like an all-sex film, you might enjoy I Want… There is a lot of sex; threesomes, eightsomes, women with women etc. Unfortunately, none of it is imaginative, given the combinations that might have been. You know the saying? “Pretty Maids all in a row?” Well, even that gets boring after awhile.
The dubbing is awful. Why dub in phony French accents? If you’re showing a foreign language film, at least spend the money to get people who can speak, moan and groan with some semblance of emotion. The script is full of ridiculous double entendres (Mr. & Mrs. Suction, “They’ll come in more ways than one,” etc.), and an insipid dissertation on the advantages of sexual freedom.
On the plus side, the actors aren’t totally bad. They try to act, and inject a little 1970’s joie de vivre into the proceedings. But overall, this is just another older, dated, badly made, poorly dubbed French porn flick. It’s al sex, and not very good.
