A sexual guru of legendary proportions (hence the title), King Karl, played by Jon Martin, has apparently changed the sexual lives of many people. But if his work is evidenced in this production, I'm joining EST instead.
Not that all the sex in Legend of King Karl is bad. Terrific photography of man of the sex scenes bring the participants right into your living room. Close-ups abound and if the erotic scenes are mostly typical, at least they're plentiful. However, with the exception of a scene with Martin and Nina Hartley, the sex borders on cool —it exists, but some of it is passionless grind.
Which brings us to the minimal plot, told in pretentious subjective form by all those whose lives have been changed by this guru. They glare through their sunglasses at the camera, uttering phrases like "Simultaneous orgasm is the key to life," "Hussies are for squeezing," and "The temple of doom is equal to the anus of life." Intercut with this claptrap, we see the various sex scenes and a lesbian encounter with Lili Marlene and Janey Robbins that immediately turns into a three-way orgy.
Legend of King Karl certainly provides quantity. But storywise or for erotic content, it's really like most everything else on the market. Recommended only for fans of Janey Robbins and Lili Marlene, whose talents are showcased here.
