Star Angel is the most intense film that Cecil Howard has made to date. It's a real film with sex, definitely not just another adult feature. Howard knows how to get the most out of his actors in both the dramatic and the hard-driving sex scenes.
The story opens with the last hour in the life of Lola (Tigr), a Janis Joplin-type rock star who is destroying her and her manager/husband Jake's (Jerry Butler) lives by using drugs. She can't make her big concert because she's half out of it. She and Jake have a nasty, angry sex scene after which he lets her overdose.
Jake makes it without her and is now living with Kate (Colleen Breenan) who loves him although he is moody and suffers from nightmares. He sees Lola everywhere, especially in the young hitchhiker Terry (Angel) whom he takes in to live with Kate and himself. His nightmares become reality as Terry melds into Lola and he relives their final scene, but is saved from killing Terry by the long-suffering Kate.
Within this heavy tale are some hot sex scenes, especially the twosomes between Jake and Kate as she unleashes all her passionate love in an effort to make him forget Lola. He responds with an anguished sexual frenzy that sizzles the screen. Kate and Terry have a sensual scene together and Mario (Ron Jeremy), the chauffeur, and his girlfriend Frannie (Taija Rae) do a very realistic coupling in which Frannie keeps saying, "Now do me. It's my turn."
The script, camera work, sets, acting and the music all deserve bravos in this rich fantasy-laden hardcore drama.
