Right off the bat, I have two questions.
Number 1— Instead of searching for the perfect orgasm (as so many leads in today's sex features do), Amber Lynn searches for the perfect . . . sweat. But with all the hot sex in this well-made new Anthony Spinelli video, how come the perspiration doesn't drip right off of her lithesome body?
Number 2 — Why doesn't she just go find a sauna?
That aside, I must praise director Anthony Spinelli for smoothly switching from real-life drama (Ecstasy, Talk Dirty To Me One More Time) to real-life comedy with Sweat. Well, almost. Amber has a serious problem. Although the viewer will enjoy her sexual escapades, they're obviously not erotic enough to make her sweat. So she goes through a surreal series of libido-driven experiences that leave her satisfied, but a bit too dry.
As Amber's goofy shrink, Jamie Gillis sends her to a place where all she has to do is watch television. Hence, we get the best non-Amber sex scene, a television sequence with Mike DeMarco and the finest video actress currently working, Nina Hartley. With Jerry Butler, Gillis, Tom Byron, two Latinos and, ultimately, John Leslie (in a short, great performance), Amber gives her fans more steamy sex for the money than in any other feature she's appeared in. The only scene with her that misses is a dull lesbo scene with Patti Petite.
Sweat has everything, including humorous dialogue, fine videography (though we could use a little more camera movement during the expository scenes) and excellent performances from Amber, Leslie, Hartley, Butler, Davis, etc. If it doesn't leave your brow dripping, you'll need at least a cold shower.
