Crazy With Heat is a slickly made and quite entertaining tale of a sexually repressed wife's erotic eruption, and her subsequent stay in a "sex asylum," that features a strong cast and some smoldering encounters, along with a surprising twist ending.
A top computer designer (Joanna Storm) suddenly goes berserk at a dinner party, ripping off her clothes and attacking the hostess. On the advice of Storm's employer, her husband (Eric Edwards) commits her to a retreat where the headmistress (Tantala) has some rather unique methods of teaching her patients to cope with their uncontrollable urges. While Storm must learn to tone down her sexual appetite, we learn that the root of her problem is Edwards' lack of arousal, so he is likewise "re-educated" by the boss' wife (Tamara Longley) and Tantala.
It is one thing for an adult actress to convey desire when she's with other people in a scene, but quite another to do it convincingly through words alone. To her credit, Joanna Storm does just that. We feel the suppressed feelings of this unsatisfied woman, and this makes her "release" all the more exciting. Edwards gives a fine performance as her prudish and (at first) reluctant hubby, and Longley and Tantala also shine. A particular standout is Ron Jeremy in a comedy cameo as "Snakey," a spike-topped patient who prefers his own attentions to other peoples'.
If there are problems with this film, they stem from a somewhat rambling first half and some distracting, albeit well-staged, scenes with other patients. The focus should have been more on Storm and Edwards together. Taken as a whole, however, Crazy With The Heat is certainly a hot enough entry for an evening's erotica.
