The people from AVN must be putting me on. After months of getting me to review shot-on-video garbage, I didn't think anyone made movies like this anymore. I mean, someone actually spent money on this . . . real camels, sets, actors, a story.
The best idea director Edwin Durell had was to cast Francois Papillon as the Sultan. He fits the part: handsome, virile, and even his accent is appropriate. Kari Foxx is gorgeous as Scheherazade, who, as we all know, wins the day. Keli Richards is Lady Valerie, a desert queen with a Brooklyn accent. Jamie Gillis is great as the Sultan's procurer, and proves his well-known acting talent as a voyeur to a great lesbian scene without uttering a work. Just his facial expressions tell his story. Everyone in the cast, including Joey Silvera, Nina Hartley, Patti Petite, Buffy Davis, and Jennifer Noxt, all of whom appear as extras, are superb.
The story is semi-familiar: the Sultan is looking for the perfect woman. His Wizard tries to locate candidates, .sometimes sampling, sometimes watching. Eventually, Scheherazade comes into the Sultan's life and they move happily into Part 3.
But, sports fans, this is an adult film. And in an adult film, people do adult things. Do they ever! There are so many great scenes in this film I don't know where to start. At the head of the list is the head scene between Sandy Summers, Bunny Bleu, Kristara Barrington and the Sultan's wand. It's a little
long — the use of slow-motion to extend the action is a little much — but as a sex scene it's superb. Then there's Gillis and Davis. Buffy plays "Ample" because she is, and Jamie is able to use Ample. Get it? There's a marvelous domination scene with Karen Bree, as the dominatrix, who uses Petite as her slave and the Sultan as her pawn. Richards does her "faster, harder" routine in a double penetration, and the "piece de resistance" is the love scene between Foxx and Papillon which will have you begging for more. But the movie ends here. There has to be a Part 3... please!
The tough thing about writing this review is that I had to use words I have become unfamiliar with, like "good." This is a super movie. Have I ever lied? Watch it with someone you love. If you don't love or even like someone, watch it alone. Whatever you do, if you only watch one adult movie this year, watch this one. Remember, I was right about Taboo American Style.
