A rock ‘n’ roll porn movie sounds great on paper, but none of the magic of either is exhibited in the anachronistic Inner Blues.  The story is centered around the activities in Rocky’s Club 64, set to the sounds of an original music score performed by Gutz.  The sex is motivated by manipulation and by the ol’ casting couch syndrome.

William Margold is the jaded bore who runs the joint. He uses his position to “audition” female hopefuls, who parade in and out of the club regularly stripping and tricking as part of his rock ‘n’ roll nightmare.  Taija Rae, looking suspiciously gaunt, is the wide eyed bartender who wants a chance to strut her stuff, but not if it means going down on Margold.  Jerry Butler is her coke addict-musician-leech boyfriend who can’t muster the strength to face his life.

The characters are one-dimensional; people who screw out of desperation.  The wall-to-wall soundtrack will leave you praying for the return of disco by the movie’s end, but obviously, some money has been spent on this film.

The most erotic scenes come by the way of Viper. Her tumble with Butler and later her appearance in a dream of Rae’s, kick things into high gear. Her use of a golden dildo shows ingenuity and intense horniness.

Given no reason to like any of the characters, the viewer is left to see such fan favorites as Sharon Kane’s talent wasted on a low life hooker role that seems painful for her to portray.  Had this movie been made in 1974, it would have certainly been innovative.  However, the camerawork is barely up to snuff even for that era.
