Well, they can borrow the title, but it will be quite some time before anyone tries to make an adult version of that film. No, F.J. Lincoln and writer Patty Rhodes have instead concocted a nice little feature in The Last Temptation that involves little in the way of religion. Gambler Tom Byron has run afoul of mobsters, and in order to gain his inheritance tries to bump off his ailing father (Lincoln in a delightful cameo) by hiring him a series of sexy nurses. Wouldn't you know, instead of the planned heart attack, the old man perks up and elopes with doctor Tianna.
Good performances here throughout, particularly from Byron as the male lead and Aja as his devoted secretary. A four-person sex scene between call girls Cheri Taylor and Heather and hood Peter North and Eric Price is worth the price of admission alone, as well as the romantically-shot scene between Byron and Aja that follows. Fine production values and a well-handled cast make The Last Temptation an arousing entry that's hard to resist.
