Sheesh, all this hoohah over a shy guy with a skin problem. There's a broadway play, an album, at least three (upcoming) film versions, and now the inevitable adult video.

Well, if it had to be made, at least it was made well. The story is set in Paris (shot on location). Stogie, a world-weary writer, is sniffing around for a story. He runs into Rick Savage, an old drinking buddy from the States, who owns a cabaret with exotic dancers. Rick is the kind of guy who likes to have his cake and eat it too. Which he frequently does on the sly.

Self-proclaimed society snob Olympia (Sharon Kane) gets her kicks by manipulating people. She knows that Rick is hot for her, so she puts the make on Rick's main squeeze Eve (Bionca). Later Olympia temps Rick with her carnal charms again, but will only comply if Rick sexually sacrifices Eve to … the man of mystery, The Phantom.

Stogie smells a story behind all this duplicity, and he pumps the cabaret bartender for information. He pumps her again, for after all, the bartender is Keisha. 'Nuff said.

The Phantom (Gillis) is actually a menial employee of Rick's whose face is masked to cover a disfiguring accident. He secretly harbors a crush on Eve, but when she's forced to submit to him… we find out that Phantom is part one of two videos, so stay tuned.

Raven Touchstone's screenplay manages to cram six steamy encounters between some genuinely interesting dialogue, bolstered by Pachard's surehanded direction. Randy Spears, as Stogie, is quite good both in and out of the sack. He's that rare find – a handsome stud who can act.

Although it is quite disappointing to find Barbara Dare badly underused, it's a pleasure to report that Kane and Bionca still smolder. These ladies love their work, and it shows. This is one cliffhanger worth waiting for.
