Using the theme of "the grass sometimes really is greener on the other side," director Paul Thomas has turned out an interesting film which harkens back to some of the adult flicks of the past. Thomas, a skilled video director, has attempted his first feature shot on film and the result are mixed.
Barbara Dare plays a stripper named Silky Monroe who grows tired of the business and decides to get away from it all by moving to a small town where the pace is slower and the people are down to earth. Unfortunately, her former boss (Steve Vegas) is feeling the financial loss of her absence from his club and he sends Victoria Paris to get her back, at any cost.
Behind Closed Doors contains enough sexual variety, production value and plot development to please virtually all viewers. The sexual encounters are well shot and portray a laid back, easy going eroticism. The most tease and heated sexual performances come by way of star Barbara Dare and Victoria Paris, who is vast becoming the erotic starlet of the industry.
The acting is typically good for a Thomas feature, though the moody lighting only works in some of the scenes. An interesting story is aided by some scenes with an unforgettable rainy day, dream-like feel to them. Behind Closed Doors is a good film and stores should definitely support this one.
