This crazy-quilt of stitched-together odds and ends comes to us from Catalina, whose name on the box is usually about as much a guarantee of quality as viewers can find. Catalina's homegrown product is among the best, and they usually exercise a discerning eye in picking up outside videos to distribute. This time they must have been seeing cross-eyed.

What we have are three or four separate batches of material, some of it shot, I suspect, years apart. To make this into a "feature" the directors have provided a linking device about young, blond Erich Lange, a video junkie who neglects job and friends to stay home and watch porno 24 hours a day. Not a bad idea, except that the stuff Erich watches isn't always worth staying home for.

The most interesting of the assembled material features an extended three-way between Todd Kramer, Beau matthews and Michael Christopher. Christopher hasn't been seen is a new production for quite a while, and perhaps it was the chance to acquire some previously unseen footage of this gayporn superstar that made Catalina jump for Obsession, it's interesting, but mostly in an archival way for the diehard Christopher fan. This is hardly one of his better appearances, especially since much of his big-dumb-and-hung appeal is based on subtleties like voice and characterization, none of which we get here.
