After working separately on some projects, Patti Rhodes is once again teamed with F.J. Lincoln. They work well on an individual basis, but when the writing and producing talents of Rhodes are merged with the directing experiences of Lincoln, the results are often stunning!
It is soap opera time as three couples face personal problems and try to work them out as best they can. The marriage between Alice Springs and Tom Chapman is strained to the limit because of his heavy drinking. Peter North's beautiful relationship with Tracy Winn is brought to a tragic end when she is killed by a drunk driver. Then, to complicate the picture even more, Teri Weigel threatens her marriage with Joey Murphy by carrying on an affair with Peter North in an attempt to ease his sorrow.
All of the sex scenes are romantic and have a genuine realism to them in this beautifully photographed couples tape. In fact, the people in some of the scenes actually kiss and say, "I love you" after having sex.
The story is fascinating, the production methods are high and the dialogue has feeling. The women have a mature sexiness to them, and the men are portrayed as complete characters. Friends and Lovers is a tender love sotry not to be missed!
