Any misgivings that I personally may have had with Jeanna Fine's performance In Part 1 is overcome by her stunning, sexually torrid work in this fine film.
I'm not going to try to expound on all the subtleties in this excellent screenplay (by Raven Touchstone); there are just too many. As you'll recall, Part 1 ended with Hothouse Rose (Victoria Paris) discovering nutcase LizHarris (Jeanna Fine) dressed in a "Rose" costume and wig and cowering in Rose's closet. This confrontation becomes a sort of icebreaker, where Fine confesses her obsession with the (in her eyes) perfect porn star and all-around human goddess, Rose. (Of course, we know that Rose is anything but happy with her station in life, and has decided to quit the XXX business.)
After discussing the problem with Liz's shrink (Jon Dough), which leads to a steamy staircase love session, Rose hires Liz as her secretary, which, strangely, begins Liz's cure ... after a hot girl/girl session with Rose. The final epiphany occurs after Liz's contest with club owner Johnny Whiplash (Buck Adams in a wheelchair) over who is Rose's Number 1 fan. The two compare notes, and Johnny concedes, but at the moment of Liz's vindication, she realizes that what she's really been looking for all this time is love, and the film ends with Liz apparently giving up her infatuation with Rose and following after Johnny.
There's a lot more going on than can possibly be summarized in the space available here. Well worth mentioning, for instance, is the torrid scene between Adams and bartender Trixie Tyler, and Dough's coupling with wife Nina Hartley. Suffice to say, the sex is hot, the film's view of life — in particular, the business of making XXX movies — gritty, and the acting, superb. These people have all done a fine job. Miss this at your peril.
