This tender Spinelli tape is the one we took you behind the scenes of last issue, and it's every bit as good as you might have fathered from that story. Ona Zee has not lost one bit of the appeal that won her a huge fan following before her two-year hiatus from the XXX business, and here she gives an award-worthy performance.
This tale, told mostly in sexual flashback, traces Zee's rise from secretary to movie star, and who she's screwed and been screwed by along the way. Although this journey doesn't take more than a few years, Ona still appears noticeably younger in her first conversation with agent Joey Silvera than in their final interlude. Along the way, we see Ona as an aging Joan Collins, offering to make the pizza delivery man (Rocco Siffredi) a star if he'll make it with her. We see the beginning of her disenchantment with the profession as Silvera orders her to make it with Mimi Miaggi, then pulls her away and delivers Miaggi's final plunge himself. Her descent into alcoholism is the undercurrent of an orgy scene, where she literally pulls T.T. Boy away from Debi Diamond and goes down on the lady for her own pleasure.
Finally, Ona starts to hallucinate, imagining what loving sex between gentle partners (Jon Dough, Diedre Holland) would be like. The scathing sensuality stuns the viewer throughout, with quiet panitng the rule rather than intrusive music. This tape is definitely not "by the numbers." Without a doubt, one of Spinelli's best works to date.
