With terrible acoustics in several scenes to contend with, For the Money Part 2 is a little difficult to follow, unless you’ve seen the first installment. Serenity and Shayla are battling it out over a $ 146 million fortune. Serenity is the daughter of the rich guy who’s passed away and left the largesse, and Shayla is or was his mistress but still feels his ghostly presence. The fact that Serenity, a lesbian, must marry in order to inherit doesn’t help the issue. Neither do the sound problems if you’re trying to follow the story.

Serenity is featured in two standout scenes, one with Alex Jordan on a stairway that is so engrossing., it could have gone on for a couple more minutes; and the other one being the climactic “conspiracy” pairing with Shayla. This one’s a tad mellower than the one with Jordan but Serenity looks extremely tantalizing, as does Shayla.

Scouting out a potential “marriage” partner for Serenity (more for the benefit of the lawyers), Alex Jordan tries on the supposedly gay Jake Ryder for size in a “I’ve never been with a woman before” scene. The gay play-acting is scripted to the extent of eliminating a wet shot when Ryder tells Jordan it just doesn’t “feel right”. It doesn’t look right, either, Jake.

Chef Jake Williams and maid Chanel pair off in a gratuitous matchup while Shayla handles butler Rex Morrison in a nice scene filled with leg and foot tease.

Unfortunately with some 160 minutes invested in developing a storyline, the feature turns into the shaggiest of shaggy dog stories. If you’re fans of Shayla and Serenity, you’ll probably take the plunge despite the attack of creativus interruptus at the very end. Great boxcover shot of Serenity.
