Director Michael Craig told me he liked this film better than his top-rated Shades of Blue. Sexually, it does have its moments. Then there's the motel motif, where the movie starts and ends, and where much of the sex action takes place. Motels are legendary in the XXX biz, since an awful lot of footage was shot in them in the old days - so I guess, in a sense, this pic is an homage to those classic days.

And speaking of motels, there's something very Psycho about this story, as the (unsettling) Twilight Zone-type music is no doubt supposed to remind us. All the sex at the motel is being recorded by a hidden video camera and observed by Victoria Paris for her Master's thesis - something about sexuality in the married male - and as the picture progresses, she's willing to lose her job and her husband (Peter North) in order to spend more time watching these hot couples making it in the next room.

Some of the sex scenes are elegant and excellent. Melanie Moore and boss Jon Dough making it on the office conference room table, as Victoria watches, makes for stunning erotica. And Melanie's motel room tryst with Mike Horner is sweaty, energetic and hot!

In fact, there are six sex scenes in all, and all enjoyable to watch. Beyond that, the movie is technically superlative, particularly as Craig draws us into the sex by switching between the "video image" and straight film to heighten the "reality" of the scene. What's mostly wrong with this tape is that Victoria just isn't a very likable gal in this role, and as her obsession grows, she leaves the audience farther and farther behind, until we have no sympathy for her when she orders Cassidy to pick up a guy in a bar and take him to the motel - just so Victoria can watch and get off on it. With a very unique, pretty box cover featuring Victoria looking the best in ages, stores who haven't already stocked this one should jump to it.
