I often cringe when I see the concepts of sex and science fiction linked haphazardly together like googly-eyed contestants on "Love Connection." Adult features time and again botch the job with an insistence upon outré fashion, dialogue and sexual behavior. But every once in awhile an even-tempered, kooky feature like Plan 69 From Outer Space comes along to set things right.
The same can be said for Demolition Woman I (another directorial debut this month) where low key subtlety seems to be the name of the game and sly humor is an artful laser beam aimed at the cosmic funny bone.
The story takes place in the year 2014, and the ozone by this time has gone completely haywire, meaning that George Hamilton can no longer tan outdoors. Worse than that, the depletion has all but destroyed the ability to get it up. To the rescue is "Demolition Woman" (Isis Nile) who transports herself back to 1994 in a vehicle that looks like Salvador Dali borrowed a fiberglass kit and went crazy with a Miata. Isis lands smack dab in the middle of a virtual reality session where butt-heads, and potential semen depositors, Jonathan Morgan and Alex Sanders are jerking off to a scene from Beverly Hillbillies. (There's more subtlety for you.)
Sounding an awful lot like Brad Pitt in True Romance, Sanders and Morgan engage Isis in a cleverly articulated threesome, although the noise Isis' boots make coming off is like that of a giant Doritos bag crumpling next to a karaoke machine. Sanders is somehow lost in the subsequent transport and winds up in the space-time continuum, not that his character would probably notice, anyway.
Overall, the sex exercises pinpoint control, gets the right angles and shows off enough of the female anatomy to make this a satisfying viewing exercise. Sanders (by now, standard practice for him), does the wild boy thing when he nails (president) Lynn LeMay voraciously in her bed chambers. Steven St. Croix shares erotic times in a bathtub with fiancée Nile and Morgan's threesome with the equally lithe Bunny Blue and Tricia Yen is a ball stroking melee that's attention grabbing.
Demolition Woman, Part 2 is on the way, and from the looks of things, In-X-Cell Productions is on to something with a new look and a new philosophy.
A highly recommended, couples/quality-oriented feature.
