In this affable homage to the '70s, detectives Midori and Knight run around in disco boots and Afros, saving the world from video pirates while arranging themselves in gun-clutching poses virtually torn from the blacksploitation one-sheets of the "Have a nice day" decade. It's pretty funny - for a while at least - but the sex scenes don't quite ignite the screen the way Pam Grier did with a simple jiggle of her ample jugs.
Midori snags the best scenes (as one might expect), offering her tight black buns for a slice of Price's honky sausage, as well as committing herself to a tasty threesome with Marcus and Oscar. Co-star Crystal, also looking foxy, only manages a brief sampling of Tina Tyler's Goldenpussy (Tina's the villain, see), and eventually the feature gets bogged down by unnecessary details when more time could have been spent on nasty bone-jumping. The plot is less a pastiche of Starsky & Hutch clichés than an example of them, and the pacing actually slows down when it should kick into high gear.
Two hot scenes and an amusing premise carry Isis Blue further than most dialogue-oriented releases. Worth stocking.
