Those who don’t take this rag-tag movie too seriously will discover its sublime charms, and retailers should get lots of rental and sales mileage out of this unusual Ed Powers/Vivid combo.  Based on the short-lived series of the same name, Tight Shots: The Movie uses video inset footage strategically placed (usually as a second angle during a sex scene) as its gimmick.

The big joke is that Tight Shots begins as a sappy love story, with India (whose naturally beautiful body graces three sex scenes) and Tony Tedeschi exchanging maudlin mental love poetry and the viewer wondering what the hell is going on.  Then Powers breaks the fourth wall, confessing to India that as a hired feature film director, he’s lost his touch, and the rest of the film traces his fictional comeback as a gonzo entrepreneur.

Along the way, we get way too many sexy women to give proper space to here.  Two of the three scenes with India (first with Tedeschi, then with Alana and Tedeschi) showcase her perfectly.  After Ed’s overlong and too wordy taxi ride/confessional with Russian cab driver John Strong, he picks up beautiful blond Euro-babe Elena for a nasty little alley scene (the cabbie gets some as well).

Powers enters Dirty Debutants’ world with relish, setting up Inari Vachs, Alana, Lola, Vivid’s new Hungarian starlet Veronica (Ed’s old pal) and Jennifer Leigh for a fiveway with Strong.  It’s a good sex scene with Ed peering in like a wandering Mr. Teas.  Powers also does the Deb deal with cute Candi Daze and Sofia, and directs a three-girl lesbian bath scene where the girls tell deprecating stories about Ed’s smelly feet, small dick and disappearing pubic hair.

As in any good porn film, a sizzling sex scene is saved for the end.  Veronica, the cabbie, Powers and sexy Shaena Steel rub body parts, with Powers getting a little extra with Veronica at the end.

Though the expository scenes tend to drag, Tight Shots never fails to showcase pretty women and lots of goofy humor.
