If there's one thing director Antonio Passolini has locked down in XXX, it's a sense of sleaze. But more than that, he evinces the ability to wrap that sleaze around a good story/situation... like the one in DMJ6.
Take the opening scene, with clean-faced Anita Cannibal cuckolding husband Scotty Schwartz with geeks Ian Daniels and J.J. Michael in a double-vaginal roundelay. A common enough scene in porn, right? But only Passolini (and possibly Michael Ninn) would have Schwartz be so eager to get to his job at the slaughterhouse. And wait'll you see what Cannibal packs in his lunch box! Ewwww!
In the midst of all this, of course, is that perpetual innocent, Justine Jones (Stacy Valentine), who's not looking for anywhere near the amount of sexual action as her predecessor Juli Ashton in DMJ5. Valentine would simply settle for getting more attention form her mystic scholar boyfriend, Randy Spears; but even that pink bustier she's wearing when she confronts him won't rev his engine —he'd rather decipher a formula for summoning succubi.
Stacy gets plenty of exercise anyway —four scenes worth, in fact, starting with her fantasy about "Little Red Riding Hood and the Beekeeper," with Steve Hatcher supplying the pollen, which he nearly deposits in Stacy's ass, spoon style. (Did we mention that Passolini is also a little weird?) And when she "reads" for B-movie producer Michael J. cox, he's more interested in having her suck and sit on his meat whistle by the pool.
But it's when Valentine unwittingly releases demonesses Nikita and Vicca that things start hopping —and where Her Satanic Majesty Tina Tyler really gets to strut her stuff. Any time the self-assured Tyler appears, the screen lights up with her presence; so much so that we have no hesitation over pre-nomming her for Best Supporting Actress. Tyler has several excellent soliloquies, but her dialogue with Valentine about pizza is both hilarious and a porn truism. Too bad her only sex scene is nearly a throw-away, with Tyler and Valentine taking on two masked wrestlers (John Strong, Chris Cannon), notable only for both gals' reverse cowgirl bouncing.
Meanwhile, Nikita and Vicca are cutting a ghoulish swath through the city, fucking guys like Spears into sexually-satiated zombiehood. And then there's Juli Ashton, who gets d.p.'d by Bruce Willis/Brad Pitt hybrid Cannon and a dildo-wielding Nikita. It then becomes Valentine's job to return the devilish pair to Hades, which happens just after the Russians double-team plumber Kyle Stone. The handyman plugs Nikita's standpipe and investigates a juicy leak in Vicca's drain while the trio are seated in an easy chair.
Finally, with everything back to normal (or is it?), Valentine reproaches Spears —but gone is the pink bustier, and in its place, a leather outfit and boots that inspire Spears to fuck her spoon and doggie style.
Kudos to costumer extraordinaire September Dawn, and to Passolini for artfully weaving sound bites from old radio and TV shows into the storyline, making DMJ6 a nominee for Best Comedy. Our only quibble, in fact, is the MTV-style stutter editing, which takes a few minutes to get used to, and then becomes virtually unnoticeable for the rest of the two-hours-plus of enjoyment.
