A thriller with bored rich housewives and a scary artist type who may be a murderer as well as a painter. Alana and Danielle Rogers are the trophy wives who look for "the dark side" in sleazy bars that feature sex acts instead of karaoke. They meet up with painter Randy Spears, who adds that last element of danger to the mix. The cat-and-mouse game he plays with Rogers is worth the wait.
The sound problems that have plagued Markman's recent productions are gone: The dialogue is crystal clear for a change. Occasional overexposures and directorial miscues are unfortunate (North Hollywood by the TV Academy may not be Rodeo Drive, but in bright sunlight it ain't exactly a "bad neighborhood," either) but on the whole a good effort.
