Still Insatiable finds a clever way to bring Marilyn Chambers back to the adult scene, having her portray a right-wing legislator who helps form a National Obscenity Enforcement Unit to fight pornography and save the "victimized" women who are coerced into performing sex on camera. All the while, she loves watching smut and falls in love with her bodyguard, causing a political scandal.
Obviously, this is not the Marilyn Chambers of Behind the Green Door. Though she seems to enjoy her four robust sex scenes, and she'll be the reason that this will be one of 1999's biggest hits, the rest of the erotic segments give this high-budget story its flair.
Chloe and Steve Hatcher perform a very hot anal encounter; Juli Ashton and Stacy Valentine enjoy each other's pussies and a dildo in Juli's ass; Kylie Ireland enjoys a scalding anal scene with Jack Garfield; and Nikita gets it anally in a threeway with Vicca and Tyce Buné.
But all eyes are on Marilyn, whose breasts are big and round these days (evident in her limousine masturbation) and who valiantly takes on Mr. Marcus and Julian St. Jox in her best sex scene, which ends up with her rear entry getting violated. She also ends the tape in a fourway with Ashton, Ireland and Julian, and there's a mediocre sex scene with Julian earlier on.
Though the plot meanders a bit, ironic touches abound, most notably a great political rally scene where Marilyn's constituents talk about banning smut (it's funny to see Gloria Leonard, Veronica Hart and Georgina Spelvin as anti-porn zealots). Obviously, Chambers' character breaks out of her conservative stance and becomes pro-sex (why else go to a strip club to pick up two guys?), but the plot often seems stranded, looking for something new to say.
Nonetheless, there are plenty of reasons to recommend Still Insatiable, including solid production values (the video looks and sounds good), all the VCA contract girls and the marketability of Marilyn Chambers' long-awaited comeback.
