The beautiful and exotic-looking Carol and Darlene Bernola display their Latin heritage and their liberated American attitudes as Playmate 2000.  Beginning with a tongue-in-cheek newsreel bit revealing that Hef had the twins cryogenically frozen back in the '60s, this vid then displays them very alive, warm and sensual as they are reborn in the Third Millennium.  There are lovely scenes as the women describe their early life growing up in a tropical rain forest in Peru, lounging nude in a hammock or frolicking in the warm rain.  There are a couple of vignettes in which they playfully trick guys into thinking one is the other, although in both these instances the viewer may wonder how anyone could confuse them, as they sport obvious and very different tattoos.  And where did they get those tattoos in the rain forest?  There's also lots of Latin-style dancing in glitzy discos where nobody seems to notice that Carol and Darlene are topless.

The vignettes are interspersed with interviews with them and their Mom(!).  They appear funny, lively and intelligent, and delighted with their life in Miami and new status as Playmate 2000

The directing in this video is very choppy, going from one scene to another, totally different one with no apparent reason.  There also seems to be a problem with the lighting during the interviews.

The bonus 20-minute video of the Playmate 2000 Search, barnstorming its way across the country on a jet-black bus, is one of the best Playboy videos ever.  Probably close to 100 women are shown as they try out to be the 45th anniversary Playmate.  The action is fast-paced, and there are shots of girls standing on the street just pulling up their shirts and waving and shouting, "Hi, Playboy!" We are also treated to a tour of the bus with its full photography studio and a few quick interviews with some of the photographers as well as top editors of the magazine, plus a quick look at the four Playmates (so far) who were discovered on the search.  It's incredible to see so many beautiful and totally diverse women's bodies of so many shapes, sizes and colors, in such a rapid stream.  Not surprisingly, everybody in this short video seems to be having an exciting and wonderful time.
