It's difficult to assess the intent of Antonio Passolini's Mondo Porno. If it's simply meant to be sexually stimulating, it accomplishes that fairly nicely. There's not a loser among the seven sex scenes, with "best of tape" going to the threeway between Nikita Denise, Tyce Buné and Pat Myne. Look for plenty of anal action, such as Denise's anal reverse cowgirl on Buné, which turns into a d.p., which leads to a d.p. in another position and pops from both guys to Denise's mouth. After that, Chloe gets the two next best, as "Aunt Pam" in the "classic" opener, devirginizing "new stud" Joel Lawrence (who sports a major Afro) with excellent reverse cowgirl, doggie and anal mish, all to a background of Shaft style musical riffs, and the tape closing "amateur" threeway with Kyle Stone and Steve Hatcher. The hot mish, doggie, anal reverse cowgirl and d.p. help ease the discomfort of the almost-painful dialogue.
Which brings up the second possible intent, which appears to be Passolini's attempt to parody several other porn styles through the medium of having talk show hostess Tina Tyler interview "legendary porn star" Al Prazolam (Joel Lawrence) about his experiences in the industry. Chloe's opener, for instance, is Passolini's take on the loops that eventually ushered in the video era. The next scene seems to be a parody of Stuart Canterbury's occasional African treks, with Ruby and Chris Cannon dying of starvation on the Serengeti plain... unless she can survive on the protein in his sperm (which, incidentally, she never gets). Later there's a send-up of the Andrew Blake/Michael Ninn school in a fetish-y girl/girl scene from "Chateau of Seductively Innocent Divas," featuring Tawny Roberts and Nina Ferrari. The closer is a sort of cross between bad amateur and the pseudo-documentary style some directors have attempted. Frankly, none of that works very well. Thankfully, the sex does.
