Recently broken up with Shay Sights, Joel Lawrence falls into self-pity-induced suicidal depression, taking rat poison and spitting it out, choking out "This tastes terrible! How do they eat that stuff?!?!!" He goes to Heartbreakers Anonymous, seeking solace, but it's a bunch of whiners, so he seeks wisdom from Herschel Savage, but that depresses him even more and he takes a handful of pills - which turn out to be birth control pills. Told by the Heartbreakers Anonymous group leader to find a girl he could take home to mother, he finds Bridgette Kerkove at a strip club, shrugging "Mom was a stripper, you know" to Lee Stone, who does Kerkove in the middle of the club. He finally goes to Sights' place to confront her, and she comes in with Nick Manning. Finally, he tries to hang himself in the group meeting room, but he makes the rope too long. Claudia Adkins sees this, and restores his will to live - but off camera.

Good acting, especially by Lawrence, and clever bits like good use of mirrors in the Kate Frost/Herschel Savage sex scene add value to the usual Markman mix of humor and sex.
