It's Westworld meets The Rocky Horror Picture Show, with a little Twilight Zone thrown in at the end, as newlyweds Julie Meadows and Randy Spears find themselves knocking on the door of an old mansion after their car breaks down on the highway. Little do they know that, 24 years earlier, the mansion was the site of Sex World, a sexual amusement park populated by human-like robots programmed to satisfy any customer's erotic desires - like, for instance, Voodoo, who has a thing for nurses (Nicole Sheridan), cheerleaders (Sandy Knight) and stewardesses, er, flight attendants (Justine Romée). Sheridan gets most of the penile action here, with reverse cowgirl, mish and anal spoon, but Romée gets a little doggie (as does Knight), and dildos Sheridan's pussy while Voodoo is in the blonde's ass.
Once settled into the "bridal suite," Spears decides to do a little exploring, running across a giant talking clown head that encourages him to have a peek through the eyepiece of an old-fashioned nickelodeon (attention, GenX: a "nickelodeon" is not just a cheesy cable channel), where he sees Bridgette Kerkove satisfying clown Ian Daniels and big bunny Steve Hatcher with oral, anal and a d.p.
Meadows, meanwhile, gets it on with Nick Manning missionarily, doggie and spoon style.
At this point, the happy couple get introduced to Anthony Crane, the creator of Sex World - and it's at this point that some of the feature's shortcomings manifest themselves. Crane throwing out his arms and announcing "Welcome to Sex World" just as he tips over backwards in his wheelchair isn't particularly funny the first time, and significantly less so by the time fall number four is reached.
But Crane explains that the reason Sex World failed as an attraction was that the androids got too good at what they did. Rather than do whatever sexual chores the clients asked of them, they began to sense their clients' buried fantasies and deliver those... and apparently, not everyone was happy having their subconsciousnesses plumbed.
It's unclear, however, that anything that happens to Meadows and Spears runs deeply through the brain stem. Spears' next encounter is with maid Gina Ryder, whom he plunges with dildo and buttplug, then has her ride reverse cowgirl and open her butt for anal mish and doggie. Meadows' encounter is a bit weirder as she takes on weenie vendors Daniels, Chris Cannon and Kyle Stone, but the scene is fairly short and ends in a d.p. Equally short is the three-girler with Tiffany Mynx, Keri Windsor and Isabella, though the inevitable finale with Spears and Meadows is satisfactory.
Kudos and a pre-nom for the fabulous art direction, and a Best Actress nod to Meadows, whose earthiness is part of what makes her so phenomenally sexy. Sadly, however, this is not director Passolini's best work, and even looks rushed in spots.
