With the demise of his long-running Watcher line, director Robby D has created a new Vivid title that explores a similar format. An anonymous, high-tech voyeur watches equally anonymous sex scenes on a video monitor, wired into a sensor-studded black bodysuit and stroking his computerized console. Wow-ee. The director shows admirable ingenuity, with some inventive camera angles and a challenging editing style, but the whole virtual reality trip is pretentious and lame. Fortunately, the video scores with some inspired sexual pairings. Nikita Denise is always a welcome presence, and she does a smokin' anal scene even though it ends without a pop shot (or did we blink and miss it?). Dasha contributes a decent reverse-cowgirl bounce, and Taylor St. Claire takes a frothy load on her magnificent tits. The best scene belongs to Jason McCain and rising starlet Mereisa Arroyo; this woman does anal like none other, taking it to the hilt with pleasure. Our advice to Mr. D: next time, curb the moody cutaways to your 21st century schizoid man and try to avoid eliciting echoes of that classic line from Body Double: "Where's da cum shot?"
